The Edmonton Steel Wheels club went to Holy Redeemer Catholic School and demoed our fabulous sport. Kuen started with a disability awareness speech then invited players Rob, Vicky and Linda to demo the sport, as well Doug and Ali showing how to lift a falling player up. The whole school went wild chanting "Grandma" for Linda to "hit" the other players and their teachers in the rugby chair. Kenny also attended but was not feeling well, but we would like to thank him for bringing Vicky as well as our extra chairs. The students were given an opportunity to try the rugby chairs during lunch time. This event was such a success, we've been invited to comeback next year.

Global News Well the players have boarded the plane and we are off to Brandon Manitoba of the "Murderball Classic". The Steel Wheels have won this tournament the last three years in a row. First game is at 9am against Team Saskatchewan. Will keep you updated.
Our new team poster and logo, as my teacher would say, total Bad Ass... so, are you ready to be a bad ass too?
We attended the Calgary Tournament with 7 players and average age of over 45 over the Valentine's Day weekend. We were without many of our high pointers at this tournament due to many unexpected reasons. Kenny and Skyler were on fire on the court; our 2 new player Tracy and Linda had lots of court time to practice and learn the game; Kuen, Mike and Terry were playing at the top of their game... it was an excellent weekend to have fun. The Edmonton Steel Wheels rolled away with 3rd place finish.
Unfortunately, due to availability of gyms in Edmonton, we only have Wednesday practices until Feb.
