The long wait is over as we just received the okay from the City of Edmonton. Time to rejoice, grease up your spokes, pump up the tires, dust off your cushions and ready for some smashing, bumping and muscle burns... however before we get back, please ready the following information first and sign a release for as required by the city. If you need more information, please feel free to contact us.

Good day to you, rugby fans, players, volunteers and web surfers. As COVID continues to effect our city, towns and neighborhoods , it is not yet safe for CITY OF EDMONTON facilities to open their doors to the public especially regular books. For now, we are told by the city this issue will be revisited in Nov 2020.
check back with us soon, we look forward to have a great workout in a few months or as soon as THE CITY OF EDMONTON allows us to... Steel Wheels Board of Directors All practices and events are suspended for now. We will revisit dates in September 2020.
Stay safe everyone! We are heading back to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital! Glenrose hospital has been our home for Wednesday practices for many years, it's also a place where we have the opportunity to inspire newly injured people with spinal cord injury... to give them an outlet, hope, and see/experience first hand "what it will be like once rehabilitation ends and life begins.
Unfortunately we lost our gym booking for many many years. We are coming back! First Monday evening between 7 - 9 pm of every month (from Oct to May), we will be back to kick ass and show the newly injured wheelers the exciting life of being in a wheelchair, playing sport, and much more. Watch us on TV and fall in love with wheelchair rugby. Thank you CBC Edmonton for the great coverage. ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/en-bref-ici-alberta/site/segments/reportage/88118/ils-jouent-au-rugby-sur-quatre-roues
La passion du rugby anime bien des gens, même quand ils n'ont pas l'usage de leurs jambes. Le journaliste Patrick Henri s'est intéressé à une version de ce sport de contact où des athlètes font des exploits en 10 secondes et en fauteuil roulant. We went, we fought hard, we cheered, we had an awesome time.

You'v made Alberta proud! The Edmonton Steel Wheels club went to Holy Redeemer Catholic School and demoed our fabulous sport. Kuen started with a disability awareness speech then invited players Rob, Vicky and Linda to demo the sport, as well Doug and Ali showing how to lift a falling player up. The whole school went wild chanting "Grandma" for Linda to "hit" the other players and their teachers in the rugby chair. Kenny also attended but was not feeling well, but we would like to thank him for bringing Vicky as well as our extra chairs. The students were given an opportunity to try the rugby chairs during lunch time. This event was such a success, we've been invited to comeback next year.
