We have arrived in DFW and are ready to play some rugby! Skyler, Dale, Ken, Richard, Mike and rookie Andrew filled out the roster for this years event.

Friday morning we new TIRR was our first game. Very fast well rounded team. They have been playing together for well over ten years and it showed. After the whistle blew and we traded goals in the first 3 minutes they quickly took the lead. We held our ground for a while but the Texans finished the game winning by 20.

Edmonton made the trip to Dallas with a very short roster and we knew there was the chance that is a player went down with an injury we would be hard pressed competing at this higher level event. Unfortunately Richard had injured his finger in the game against TIRR and was unable to suit up for our second game which was against the Kansas City Revolution.

The game started strong for Edmonton. We won the tip and forced a few turnovers. The starting line of Skyler, Dale, Ken and Mike pushed hard up down the court. In some situations we where able to man some of the opposing high pointers creating advantages in our favour but mistakes allowed them to stay within 3. The second quarter we KC clawed back to tie the game. The second half started fatigue started setting in and the youth and pressure of the KC team started taking control of the game. We played hard until the end but found our selves on the losing end of a tough game 56 to 44.

0-2 to start the tournament. Tonight we are going to eat, relax, regroup and get ready for Denver in the morning.
